Earnshaw State College has launched a Baseball Academy and have already received expressions of interest from many students across North Brisbane. While round one applications have now closed, their second round of applications opens on September 1 and closes on September 30. Students from year 4 through to year 12 may now apply.
They are very excited to announce their baseball coach, Lee Brand who will begin in the position of Academy coach at the end of 2019, in readiness for the 2020 year and beyond.
Lee Brand was born and raised in Minnesota, USA. He is currently a physical education teacher at Carmel College, Thornlands. He is a committee member for the Redlands Rays Baseball Club, coaching the Senior League team, running the T-Ball Program and playing for the Master’s team. He has been involved in school sport as the head coach for the Met East region U18 team and an assistant coach for the Queensland state team. Prior to moving to Brisbane, Brand coached at Clark College and Hazel Dell Little League in Washington, USA, Riverland Community College in Minnesota, and Salt Lake Community College as well as two different high schools in Utah, USA. He also coached for several semi-professional teams in Canada. Brand played semi-professionally in Canada. He has completed a Master’s of Science degree at the University of Utah in the program of Sport Psychology and he received his Bachelors of Education from Gonzaga University (Washington state, USA) while assisting the baseball teams at GU and at Rogers High School. He is married with two children and is excited with the opportunity to start and direct a Baseball Academy at Earnshaw State College.

Baseball Queensland [BQ] is pleased to announce the partnership with Moreton Bay Council to host the David Nilsson Little League, Junior League, Senior League and Division 2 state titles to be held at Talobilla Park, Redcliffe in 2020 and 2021.
BQ is excited to continue building a great relationship with Moreton Bay Regional Council. This relationship has created the opportunity four our LL, JL and SL State titles to expand with the addition of division two tournaments, which has created more opportunities for young people to experience the tournament and regional baseball. Baseball Queensland are pleased to inform that dates and locations have been set for the 2019 Div 1 and Div 2 State Titles.
Open Division 1 State Titles are headed to Sheldon, in Brisbane’s South East and will be hosted by Redland Rays Baseball Club. The dates for the Div 1 State Titles are 15th – 17th of November 2019.
Open Division 2 State Titles travel west to Darra and will be hosted by Wests Bulldogs Baseball Club. After the success of Senior League State titles this year Wests Bulldogs are excited to welcome more tournament style baseball to the region. The dates for the Div 2 State titles are also 15th – 17th of November 2019.

Baseball Queensland are proud to announce that the U18’s State Titles are to be held at Narangba on the 21st – 24th September 2019.
We are excited to again partner with Narangba Demons as the hosts for the event, as they have proved to be fantastic facilitators of Baseball Queensland events with recent tournments being successful.
