Performance Pathway schedules, delivers and provides leadership to Athlete and Coach Development within Baseball Queensland.
Designing a Long Term Athlete Development framework provides stability and continuity whilst creating an optimal learning environment for athletes and coaches within our pathway.

PHILOSOPHY
ATHLETE – FOCUSED
The Individual Athlete is our focus. Aim to provide tailored development models, communication and learning styles to achieve an optimal holistic outcome.
COACH – LED
Providing a structured skill acquisition plan provides stability and continuity whilst creating an optimal learning environment for all athletes and coaches within our Pathway Framework. A big part of this process involves our coaches developing techniques to effectively train and coach our athletes.
PROCESS – ORIENTATED
Understanding of a Long Term Athlete Development framework forms the foundation so that coaches can begin and/ or continue to explore coaching methodologies that are age and gender appropriate.
PERFORMANCE – DRIVEN
Striving towards athletes reaching their developmental milestones. Measuring and monitoring athlete progressions along with assessing delivery and programming planning to achieve optimal holistic outcomes.

Girls Athlete Development Program

COACH DEVELOPMENT
In the interests of further developing our volunteer coaches, Baseball QLD will be using the Pathway Programs as an avenue to undertake our Coach Development Program . This is a free Program with Coaches provided opportunities to either observe and/ or participate in on field sessions with additional access to resources provided within the BQ Pathways.
Baseball QLD are now taking Expression of Interest from those coaches who wish to take part in our Coach Development Program. Participating coaches will be given the chance to take part in five (5) available Pathway Programs catering for a diverse range of athletes throughout Winter period which includes:
• State Performance Squad
o Eight months (June – February)
o 2 x session per week
• State Development and Emerging Squad
o Eight weeks (July – September)
o 2 x sessions per week
• Athlete Development Program
o Six weeks (July – August)
o 1 x sessions per week
• BQ Girls Athlete Development Program
o Various times throughout the year
o 1 x session per week

• Delivery of an athlete centred holistic development program based on best in class industry standard

leaders with an emphasis on coaching practice, management and leadership
