GAME DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (Cairns & townsville)

Baseball Queensland (BQ) is seeking two passionate and motivated Game Development Officers to join our team, one based in Cairns and one based in Townsville. This role is focused on growing the game of baseball in the local community by working with schools, clubs, and stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering participation programs, rolling out pilot programs, organising BQ events, and expanding Baseball5 in the region.

This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the development of baseball in North Queensland.

EMPLOYMENT CLASS

Part Time (5 hours per week)

Coach Grade 2 @ $34.61 per hour.

Opportunities for additional hours available through school and program delivery.

qualifications
  • Previous experience in sports development, coaching, or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for baseball and sports development.
  • Experience working with children and young people is highly desirable.

key responsibilities
    • Liaison and Co-Ordination:Β Collaborate with local clubs in Cairns to assist in the rollout of participation and coach education programs
    • Program Delivery:Β Deliver engaging and effective Baseball participation sessions to school-aged children.
    • Coach Development:Β Work with and support local community junior club coaches with existing BQ initiativesΒ 
    • Expand Baseball5 : Actively promote and grow Baseball5 by introducing it to schools and community groups, organising events, and creating pathways for continued participation.Β

CASUAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Love baseball and want to help grow the sport?Β 

Baseball Queensland are looking for individuals who are passionate and have the desire to help promote baseball to primary schools throughout Brisbane, Gold Coast and North Queensland.Β The main objective of this role is to deliver entry-level programs to primary school-aged students whilst promoting local baseball clubs.Β  Your passion, commitment, and drive to get kids physically active is important to us – not necessarily an intricate understanding of the game.Β Β 

To be successful in this role you will have strong communication skills with the ability to relate positively with children and adults along with a demonstrated ability to adapt to program changes including session time, type and group size.Β Β 

 

EMPLOYMENT CLASS

Casual – Requisite equipment and apparel will be provided by Baseball QLD

BASEBALL5 (b5) CO-ORDINATOR

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Game Development team at Baseball QLD. In this role, you will be instrumental in promoting and expanding Baseball5 initiatives, fostering participation, and creating opportunities for growth within our community.Β 

Baseball5: Baseball5 is a fast-paced, simplified version of traditional baseball, designed to be played in urban, indoor or confined spaces without the need for specialised equipment.Β 

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Game Development team at Baseball QLD. In this role, you will be instrumental in promoting and expanding Baseball5 initiatives, fostering participation, and creating opportunities for growth within our community.

EMPLOYMENT CLASS

Part-time:Β  10 hours per week. Additional hours for school delivery or other circumstances may be applicable.Β 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Liaison and Co-Ordination: Collaborate with primary and secondary schools to organise and co-ordinate Baseball 5 programs.

  • Program Delivery: Deliver engaging and effective Baseball 5 sessions to school-aged children.

  • Pathway Development: Establish and develop Baseball 5 pathway opportunities to ensure sustainable growth and progression in the sport.

  • Module Format Development: Create and grow sporting module format opportunities for Baseball 5 to enhance participation and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in sports development, coaching, or a related field.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for baseball and sports development.

  • Experience working with children and young people is highly desirable.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Drivers Licence, Blue Card & Police Background Check

  • Relevant Sport Tertiary Qualification desirable
