Despite wider sporting trends, Baseball is growing in Australia, and Queensland is very close to doubling it’s membership base compared to 2016. Here’s the key information for clubs and associations now that we’re on the runway to our first 2026/2027 seasons.

Online Workshop 1: Club Policies – What Your Club Needs to Know
Tuesday 21 July 2026, 6:30pm

Running a successful baseball club involves more than organising teams, fixtures and volunteers. Clubs also need to understand and apply the policies that help create a safe, consistent and well-managed environment for players, families and officials.

This practical online workshop will provide an overview of key Baseball Queensland policies and the steps clubs should be taking to meet their responsibilities. It will cover matters such as alcohol and tobacco at junior events, responding to heat, lightning and air quality conditions, and where clubs can find relevant guidance and resources.

The session, delivered by our governance partner CPRG, is designed to help committee members and other club volunteers cut through the detail, understand what is expected and identify any simple improvements their club can make. It will also provide useful prompts for clubs to discuss at their next committee meeting before the season is underway.

2026/2027 Registration Processes

Change for Winter Clubs: In the past, the prior season form would be extended to allow late winter registrations, however, from this year, late registrations must be taken through the active form, regardless of the stage at which the season has progressed.

New 2026/2027 Registration Forms and Fees

The primary registration form for all clubs is now the ‘2026/2027 Baseball Australia Membership Registration Form (#121462).‘

Where permission is given, some clubs or club programs will take registrations through ‘2026/2027 Baseball Australia Short Season Membership Registration Form (#121546).’

Annual Club Affiliation

Has your club or association recently had their Annual General Meeting (AGM)? You might need to update Baseball Queensland with your AGM results and new committee contacts.

Insurance Reminders and Information

Baseball Queensland affiliates are reminded to review the coverage provided under the national Baseball insurance program. The limits identified under the program may mean that some clubs have too much, or too little coverage.

Key Reminders: Volunteers MUST Register

All volunteers must register with their club or association each season that they contribute to the sport. This ensures that in the event of a claim, Baseball Queensland and Baseball Australia can verify their association with the sport.

This also benefits clubs by increasing their membership numbers. This can improve funding outcomes for each club and the wider sport as we demonstrate the growth of not just our player-base, but our supporting community of volunteers, contributors and supporters.

Key Reminders: Third Party Providers

Clubs and Associations are reminded to complete their due dilligence and ensure that they, and their members, are aware of the sanctioning (affiliation/endorsement) status of any third party providers that they engage with, host, or share with their members.

This is important to be aware of for a few reasons:

1. Members participating who may normally be covered under Baseball’s national insurance would not be eligible if the activities/provider is not sanctioned/endorsed under the insurance program.

2. The club or association may be at risk by providing use of their facility to an uninsured or non-compliant external organisation. Clubs should remain aware of requirements and restrictions of organisations under both the national insurance policy but also within their facility lease or right of use contracts.

3. In the event of any claim or other issue relating to third party baseball providers or programs, the processes, resolution pathways, and other policies, associated with Baseball Queensland and Baseball Australia may not be applicable or enforceable.

The Re-Brand: Little League T-Ball

Become a Little League T-Ball Club! Baseball Australia, thanks to the national Play Well! Participation program, have relaunched T-Ball with brand new resources, session planning, and branding.

All Clubs need to do is adopt the new branding and integrate the new resources into your existing club and association competitions!

Clubs engaging in a maximum 10-week competition entitles their participants of Little League T-Ball access to the cheaper $15 Baseball Australia and $18 Baseball Queensland fees.
