Baseball Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of the Greater Brisbane League (GBL) Competitions Committee following the recent election process.
At its meeting on Monday 27 July, the Baseball Queensland Board of Management formally ratified the outcome of the GBL Committee election, confirming the appointment of Douglas Catchpole, Matt Ellems, David Everett, Rodney Gaunt and Geoff Wade to the Committee.
The newly elected members will join returning Committee members Solo Fogg and Karen Gallpen, bringing together a diverse group of experienced volunteers committed to supporting the ongoing development and administration of the Greater Brisbane League competition.
Subsequent to the launch of the election, Glenn Day also submitted a nomination to join the Committee. His nomination will be considered by the Committee at its first meeting to fill the current casual vacancy, in accordance with the Committee’s Charter.
The establishment of the Committee marks an important step in preparing for the upcoming GBL season, with members set to work collaboratively with clubs to ensure the competition continues to meet the needs of participants across the region.
The Committee’s first engagement with member clubs will take place on Friday 31 July, when it will host a meeting with all GBL clubs at Sports House, Milton. Clubs unable to attend in person will have the opportunity to participate via virtual meeting facilities.
Baseball Queensland congratulates all elected Committee members and thanks every individual who nominated and expressed their willingness to contribute to the future of the Greater Brisbane League. The organisation looks forward to working with the Committee and clubs to deliver another successful GBL season.
