The sun was shining and the baseball was electric as Day 1 of the Queensland State Championships got underway across four action-packed divisions. With teams representing regions from across the state, the diamonds were full of cheers, camaraderie, and competition. From breakout stars and dugout chants to walk-off moments and nail-biting finishes, Day 1 delivered everything we love about junior baseball – skill, spirit, and heart. Here’s how the day played out across the divisions!

🧢 Junior League (JL) – Day 1 Highlights

The Junior League division set the tone early with passionate performances and plenty of momentum-building baseball.

• Brisbane North came into the tournament with purpose and delivered two commanding wins on Day 1. Their ability to string together quality at-bats and lock in defensively was on full display. Logan L was a standout, going perfect at the plate in their 11-1 win over Brisbane West, and the team’s chemistry was evident both in the field and the dugout.

• Brisbane Metro burst out of the gates with a dominant 22-4 win over Brisbane South, showcasing explosive hitting and an energised team dynamic. Levi, Eddie, and Lucy each contributed heavily, both on the field and in lifting team morale. Despite a tough 7-3 loss to Brisbane North later in the day, Metro’s energy and skillset mark them as a serious contender.

• Gold Coast opened their campaign with a clinical 14-0 shutout win over Brisbane South. Their pitchers threw confidently, their fielders were sharp, and their baserunning caused headaches for the opposition. What really stood out, though, was their unity and constant encouragement from the dugout.

This division is stacked with talent and full of positive team cultures. With strong early wins and competitive battles already underway, Day 2 is shaping up to be a cracker 💥

🧢 Little League (LL) – Day 1 Highlights

Little League was full of smiles, celebrations, and sensational baseball – a true showcase of the game’s heart and future.

• Brisbane North were quick out of the gates with two quality wins to kick off their campaign. Their first was a commanding 14-2 win over Brisbane South, led by Preston R’s bat (4 RBIs) and supported by strong outings from Braxton B and Cameron H. Their second game, a thrilling 2-1 victory over Brisbane West, was a true pitching showcase. Braxton B struck out six, Preston R closed it out, and the team remained poised in high-pressure moments.

• Gold Coast continued their dominant form with two impressive wins. A massive 11-run first inning set the tone against Brisbane South, highlighted by a bases-clearing triple from Luku M and an inside-the-park home run from Christopher H. The duo backed it up with big performances against Brisbane Metro, with Luku striking out seven and Christopher staying hot at the plate with a 3-for-3 outing.

• Brisbane West, South, and Metro each showed grit and determination, staying in games with strong pitching and flashes of brilliance. The level of sportsmanship and enthusiasm was second to none – win or lose, the smiles said it all.

🧢 Intermediate League (IL) – Day 1 Highlights

Intermediate League kicked off with fireworks — high-scoring games, clutch hitting, and dugouts echoing with excitement.

• Brisbane North made a statement early, cruising to a 33-5 win over Brisbane West. Logan R led the charge with 6 RBIs, while the entire squad contributed on both sides of the ball. Their energy was infectious, and their communication on the field helped them capitalise on every opportunity.

• Gold Coast followed up with two big wins, showcasing a complete game on both offence and defence. Max F and Lennox A delivered multiple hits, while their aggressive base running and consistent pitching helped them edge Brisbane North in a more closely contested second game. Their resilience and hustle were key.

• Brisbane Metro turned heads in a 17-12 thriller against Brisbane North Development. Alex R was clutch with 4 RBIs, and the team’s dugout was loud and supportive throughout. North Development had one of the day’s standout highlights when William T launched a grand slam, sparking a thrilling late-game rally that had everyone on the edge of their seats.

🧢 Senior League (SL) – Day 1 Highlights

Senior League baseball was back with intent, intensity, and elite-level execution from players who know how to perform under pressure.

• Brisbane North looked polished from the outset, delivering two strong wins built on fundamentals. Their pitchers threw with confidence, their fielders made smart plays, and their hitters found gaps when it mattered. Their depth and experience will make them tough to beat as the week unfolds.

• Gold Coast were tested early but responded well in their 7-4 win over Brisbane Metro. Strong situational hitting and a calm, composed approach under pressure helped them close out the game. Their leadership on the field stood out as they managed key moments brilliantly.

• Brisbane Metro, after their narrow opening loss, came back more composed in their second game and started to show more fluency in both pitching and hitting. With improved communication and tighter defence, they’re a team that could surprise in the days to come.

• Brisbane South showed heart throughout both their Day 1 matchups. Their pitchers battled well and there were key defensive plays in both games that kept things close. While the results didn’t fall their way, the squad’s spirit and potential were clear.

Senior League continues to deliver high-quality baseball with great sportsmanship, maturity, and competitive drive. The intensity is only going to grow from here 💪

With teams giving their all across multiple divisions, the diamonds were filled with moments of brilliance, teamwork, and passion. From outstanding pitching performances to dramatic comebacks, it was a day of unforgettable baseball. Here’s how the day unfolded across the divisions!

🧢 Little League Championships (LL) – Day 2 Highlights
The Little League Championship division lit up the field with great performances and resilient comebacks. Brisbane North showed their strength in a 7-3 win over Brisbane Metro, overcoming an early deficit with powerful offensive momentum, including a solo home run from Issei H. Meanwhile, Gold Coast sealed a 4-0 victory over Brisbane West, with a strong performance from Christopher H on both the mound and at the plate. Brisbane Metro made an incredible comeback, rallying from a 13-5 deficit to defeat Brisbane South 16-13, showcasing their competitive edge.

🧢 Little League Invitational (LL Inv) – Day 2 Highlights
The Little League Invitational games were action-packed, with Brisbane Metro Invitational dominating with an 18-8 win over NQ Storm. Brisbane Metro also played to a thrilling 12-12 draw with Brisbane North Raiders, showing great fight from both teams. Brisbane South Invitational claimed two hard-fought victories, first edging out Brisbane North Norsemen 7-4, and then clinching a 9-8 win against Sunshine Coast Invitational, proving their resilience and teamwork.

🧢 Little League Development Shield (LL Dev) – Day 2 Highlights
The Little League Development Shield featured tightly contested games that highlighted the emerging talent in the competition. Brisbane South Green and Brisbane North Raiders ended in a 2-2 draw after strong performances from both sides. Brisbane Metro and Brisbane South Gold also finished in a 4-4 tie, with both teams demonstrating solid defense and skill. Brisbane Metro took a narrow 6-5 win over Brisbane West, maintaining their momentum through key plays.

🧢 Intermediate League (IL) – Day 2 Highlights
The Intermediate League division saw some exciting plays and high-scoring games. Gold Coast made a statement with a dominant 32-8 victory over Brisbane Metro Development IL, showcasing their offensive power. In the Junior League Invitational, NQ Storm (JL) secured a 13-9 win over Brisbane South Inv (JL), showing impressive offensive power. Gold Coast Inv (JL) took an 8-3 win over Sunshine Coast (JL), while Brisbane North Inv (JL) won 11-5 against Brisbane South Inv (JL), demonstrating great team effort and smart base running. The most thrilling matchup came from Brisbane Metro Red (JL) and Gold Coast Inv (JL), which ended in a high-scoring 16-15 victory for Brisbane Metro Red.

Day 3 Highlights

With just one day to go, all teams were working hard towards getting into the final rounds. Unfortunately, the day was disrupted by on-and-off rain that hit the fields intermittently throughout the day. Despite the challenging weather conditions, teams continued to give their best on the field. However, as the day wore on, several games were suspended due to the increasingly wet conditions. Thankfully, most of the matches were completed before the weather ultimately called a halt to the action.

Little League Championship (LL Champs)

Day 3 of the Little League Championships was filled with excitement and great sportsmanship. Brisbane West (LL) continued their impressive run, securing a strong 4-0 victory over Brisbane Metro (LL). Their solid pitching and defensive plays kept their opponents on the back foot throughout. In a fantastic display of resilience, Brisbane North (LL) earned a well-deserved 11-7 win over Gold Coast (LL), thanks to a powerful 6-run second inning. Brisbane West (LL) kept the momentum going with a 13-3 triumph over Brisbane South (LL), showcasing their offensive strength. ⚾💥

Little League Invitational (LL Inv)

The Little League Invitational Championship kicked off with exciting performances and thrilling games. Brisbane North Vikings (LL) made an early statement in a commanding 15-5 win over Brisbane West Inv (LL), with a big fifth inning leading the way. Brisbane North Raiders (LL) exploded in the fifth inning to overrun Brisbane Metro Inv (LL) 19-9, thanks to strong walks and key hits. Sunshine Coast Inv (LL) gave home fans a thrilling finish with a walk-off 13-12 win over Brisbane South Inv (LL), in a nail-biting back-and-forth contest. Brisbane Metro Inv (LL) bounced back later in the day, putting together an 18-9 victory over NQ Storm Inv (LL). ⚾💥

Little League Development (LL Dev)

The Little League Development Division served up some brilliant moments today, with teams showcasing their skills and determination. Brisbane South Green (LLDev) won a nail-biter against Brisbane Metro (LLDev), walking off with a thrilling 7-6 victory. Brisbane North Vikings (LLDev) showcased their strength with a 6-5 win over Brisbane Metro (LLDev), thanks to clutch RBIs from Brodie K. Brisbane North Raiders (LLDev) fought hard to secure a 13-7 win over Brisbane South Gold (LLDev), led by stellar pitching and offensive contributions from Harley B. ⚾💥

Junior League (JL)

In the Junior League Division, the competition was fierce as Brisbane North (JL) triumphed 10-3 over Brisbane South (JL) with solid defense and timely hitting. Gold Coast (JL) also shined with a 7-2 win over Brisbane Metro (JL), thanks to strong offense and steady pitching. These results have set the stage for an exciting finish in the Junior League, with teams showcasing their skills and giving fans plenty to cheer for. ⚾🔥

The Junior League Invitational Division brought thrilling moments with Brisbane Metro Inv (JL) taking a nail-biting 8-7 win over Brisbane North Inv (JL). Both teams showed excellent defense and high-level play. Gold Coast Inv (JL) had an outstanding outing, dominating Brisbane South Inv (JL) 9-3 with aggressive offensive play and sharp fielding. ⚾💥

Intermediate League (IL)

The Intermediate League Division showcased some thrilling games today. Brisbane South (IL) came from behind to take a hard-fought 8-6 win over Brisbane North (IL), with clutch pitching and big hits in the final innings. Brisbane West (IL) dominated Gold Coast (IL) 11-4 with a powerful offensive performance. ⚾💥

Senior League Invitational (SL Inv)

The Senior League Invitational Division saw Brisbane West Inv (SL) demonstrate their experience with an 8-4 win, showcasing solid pitching depth and offensive consistency. ⚾ Day 4 Wrap Up – Sunshine & Solid Finishes!

The sun finally came out just in time for a fantastic final day of play ☀️⚾
Teams across all divisions showed great effort, teamwork and sportsmanship to close out the tournament strong.

🔵 Little League

Brisbane North and Gold Coast faced off in a tightly contested game. Brisbane North showed discipline on the mound and composure in the field, while Gold Coast responded with strong defence and consistent effort throughout the innings. Both teams made the most of their opportunities and kept the game competitive from start to finish.

🟠 Junior League

Brisbane North and Brisbane Metro played a close, low-scoring match filled with quality pitching and smart defensive plays. Brisbane North found key moments to push ahead, while Brisbane Metro stayed in it with steady pressure at the plate. A well-fought game from both sides that highlighted the strength of the division.

🔴 Senior League

Brisbane Metro and Brisbane South delivered an energetic game, with Metro building momentum through the middle innings and keeping control with confident fielding. Brisbane South kept competing and found chances to put runs on the board late.

In another exciting matchup, Gold Coast and Brisbane North went head-to-head with early scoring chances setting the tone. Gold Coast combined solid defence and timely hitting, while Brisbane North responded with determined at-bats and key plays in the field.
