Lisa Norrie has dedicated her life to growing the women's game. Now, she has the privilege of having a front row seat to watching two Queensland athletes she's helped develop—Molly Paddison and Rio Bradley—take the next step as Australian Emeralds. As assistant coach for the Emeralds, Lisa has also had the opportunity to coach both players throughout their development.Norrie said it wasn't just their talent that stood out—it was the way they approached the game every day."Both Molly and Rio have an outstanding work ethic and a genuine desire to keep learning," she said."They're coachable, competitive and embrace challenges, which are qualities that set athletes apart.Lisa, their selection is about more than two debutants. It's a reflection of the strength of Queensland's women's pathway, the clubs, coaches, families and teammates who have supported them, and the exciting future of women's baseball."The pathway is there, and Molly and Rio are great examples of what's possible," Lisa said. With the Women's World Cup just around the corner and new professional opportunities emerging through the Women's Professional Baseball League, the future has never been brighter for girls dreaming of representing Australia.📖 Read Lisa's perspective on Molly and Rio's journey, and what it means for the future of Queensland baseball: https://www.baseballqueensland.com.au/from-queensland-to-the-world-stage-lisa-norrie-on-the-rise-of-molly-paddison-and-rio-bradley/ 💚💛

🥉 Bronze for Sunshine Coast! A fantastic campaign 🥉 Bronze for Sunshine Coast!A fantastic campaign comes to an end with the Sunshine Coast Little League Invitational Team finishing third after a hard-fought Finals Round Robin. The tournament was decided by the finest of margins.Sunshine Coast pushed eventual finalists Manly all the way, leading 2-0 entering the final inning before Manly produced a dramatic walk-off comeback to claim a 3-2 victory.Jackson Caton was outstanding on the mound, throwing 5.1 innings with 11 strikeouts, taking a one-hitter into the sixth inning in one of the performances of the tournament.Earlier in the day, Sunshine Coast battled the Adelaide Marlins in another tight contest. George Collins and Jackson Caton collected two hits each as Sunshine Coast fought back with three late runs. While the results didn't fall their way in the finals, the Sunshine Coast head into their consolation game with heads held high. They pushed every team right to the last pitch, all with sportsmanship and class to be proud of.Congratulations to all players, coaches, families and supporters on an outstanding tournament. 🧡💙⚾🥉
