Baseball Queensland are seeking to establish a small, passionate group of volunteers to complete some hands-on projects with a focus on improving outcomes and capitalising on growth opportunities for baseball in Queensland. Selected volunteers will gain professional development experience, working collaboratively to research, ideate and formulate evidence-based recommendations and outcomes to assist Baseball Queensland’s staff.

The working group will report to, and be guided by, our Game Development Manager, Sam Cawdron.

Overview

This volunteer role offers a unique opportunity to gain organisational and leadership experience within Baseball Queensland, supporting participation growth initiatives and contributing to the planning and delivery of a major community event.

The role will see you act as a Participation Working Group member, a volunteer-based initiative exploring strategies to grow baseball participation across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

Participation Working Group – Project Contributor

  • Work within a small volunteer working group (3-4 members)
  • Work under leadership from the Lead Volunteer and Game Development Manager
  • Attend regular meetings (fortnightly or monthly)
  • Help develop a clear project goal and discussion framework (with guidance from BQ)
  • Research local and national participation initiatives (in sport and baseball)
  • Assist the Participation Working Group in creating a summary report or presentation with insights and recommendations
  • Liaise with the Game Development Manager to ensure alignment with BQ goals

  • This is a volunteer role and does not form part of paid employment
  • A Volunteer Agreement will be signed prior to commencement
  • A Blue Card will be required, a Volunteer Blue Card is sufficient for this role
