September, 2025

North Queensland, Baseball5 is landing in Townsville this Summer!

Immerse yourself in this fast-paced 5 vs 5 format between two five week blocks. With a one time registration and a pay-per-play model, you can play once, or all ten weeks.

Looking for an intimate understanding of the game, or an opportunity to earn some cash? You’ll want our Officials Accreditation session on the 17th of October.

BUT If you’re looking for your next social sport activity (sorry parkrun), or something easy you can pick up and play for an hour, we’ll be expecting youย at the Come and Try day between 10am and 12pm on the 18th of October.

Season starts Wednesday, November 5 with three age groups, Discover and Play (8-12), Juniors (12-16) and Seniors (16+)

Officials Accreditation

Townsville, this is your opportunity to become an officially accredited Baseball5 official!

The best news? Those who umpire each week will receive a reimbursement for their time.

Make sure to register your interest in the Umpire or Coach officials categories on the Expression of Interest form.

Please expect the session to last a few hours. Final session agenda to be finalised.

Come and Try

We don’t expect you to know everything! This is one of, if not, the first social community Baseball5 competition in Australia.

Be one of the first and come and learn from our Baseball Queensland staff and volunteers! Learn more about the competition and ask as many questions as you need!

You don’t need to complete a specific registration to attend the Come and Try day, but please register your interest for the competition so we can understand demand and plan appropriately!

Pick up and Play

Once you’ve paid the registration fee, it’s a pay as you play model. Come one week but not the next? No worries, only pay for the week you were there.

5x rounds before the end of the year and 5x rounds after, don’t worry, there’s time for a holiday in between!

Discover and Play (8-12) and Juniors (12-16)

Each Wednesday, you’ll be taking the diamonds between 4:30 and 5:30pm – every player will be able to play two games. Discover and Play age group will have more activities/drills in addition to a game.

Seniors (16+)

Each Wednesday, you’ll be taking the diamonds between 5:30 and 6:30pm, playing two games each.

2025 Recruitment Information Night

2025 Recruitment Information Night

Prepare and plan early

Baseball Queensland invites you to attend ourย SEQ Schools Recruitment Information Night, heldย virtually at 6:30pm on Wednesday, 21st May.

This session is designed to support your club’s preparation for the upcomingย 2025 South East Queensland season. Weโ€™ll be covering key strategies and resources to assist withย pre-season recruitment,ย school visits, andย community engagement.

Weโ€™re aware and highly commend that some clubs already run their own pre-season school programs โ€” and we encourage you to continue doing so. However, there may still be opportunities through this session to further support and enhance your efforts, so weโ€™d love for you to attend.

As part of our grassroots development support,ย Baseball Queensland offers every club access to a Development Officer for up to 5 days of school visits. This session will outline how your club can take advantage of this opportunity and will also provide:

  • Best practices for successfulย Come & Try Days
  • Tips for connecting with local schools
  • Access toย event templates and promotional tools
  • Guidance on how to make the most of BQโ€™s support services

We strongly encourage at least one representative from each club or region to attend.

Theย Microsoft Teams meeting linkย can be found below and will also be available on BQ’s website and social media.

Microsoft Teamsย Need help?

Meeting ID:ย 417 154 267 369 0
Passcode:ย qE2D9DF9

We look forward to working together to grow our game at the grassroots level.

Want to go BIG this season?

If your club wants more than 5 days of school clinics, BQ offers additional visits at a heavily subsidised rate: $150 per day, with a Development Officer promoting your club while running fun, engaging sessions.

We highly recommend creating flyers with key dates and links to your Come & Try daysโ€”so when kids go home excited, parents have clear next steps!
