Baseball Queensland (BQ) is honored to host Shiga High School Baseball Federation from Japan as part of Baseball Queensland’s continued efforts to grow the sport through our International partnerships. Baseball Queensland’s partnership with Japan’s High School Baseball Federation extends to its 6th year with this year’s touring team coming from Shiga High School Baseball Federation for a 5-game series with the Qld Bandits U18 Team.

BQ will host Shiga for this year’s event at Pine Hills Lightning Baseball Club, thanks to the support and efforts of the Pine Hills committee, as well as the continued support for baseball by the Moreton Bay Region Council.

The 2019 Baseball Queensland U18 Japan Friendship Series enables our young Queensland athletes to compete on an International stage, as they prepare for what should be a strong run at this year’s Australian Youth Championships in Geelong, Victoria.

Baseball Queensland CEO, Paul Gonzalez, states “Baseball is an International sport that offers global opportunities for the young athletes that come through our program, BQ is honored to work with Japan to not only achieve high performance outcomes but also achieve holistic outcomes as well.”   BQ will continue to foster our relationships with Japan and other International teams, which in response support the vision of Building a better future for baseball.”
