It started out with a GoPro on the backstop to imp It started out with a GoPro on the backstop to improve his game.Today, baseball fans from across the world tune in and watch his livestreams. But becoming baseball broadcaster was never part of the plan for Surfers Paradise Dad, John Reimers.John was content watching his favourite video games play out online. When his wife signed the kids up for t-ball, he was completely unaware of the slippery slope that becoming involved in Surfers Paradise Baseball Club would be.Now he's live streaming the Winter Ball Grand Final this weekend and taking the local league to the world.Passionate about making baseball accessible to everyone, John and his 'roadie' dad Bruce are keen to share what they've learnt along the way and learn from others. If you're interested in being a part of our media community, sharing tips, tricks and troubleshooting - join our group! https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1BnEhQzZ78/

Haaaave you met Emily? Emily is our new Events Co Haaaave you met Emily?Emily is our new Events Coordinator and Little League Administrator and no one knows events quite like she does. With a Diploma of Event Management and a background spanning major festivals, live events and event security, she knows what it takes to make an event work—not just behind the scenes, but from the perspective of the people actually attending. And she practices what she preaches. When she’s not organising events, Emily spends her weekends going to them—usually somewhere in the mosh pit and as close to the stage as possible! 😂🎤That gives her a unique perspective on creating experiences that people genuinely enjoy. But for Emily, great events are about more than logistics. She’s particularly passionate about child welfare and volunteer wellbeing, shaped by years of working in event safety and volunteering at community and sporting events since she was 14.Now she’s bringing that experience to Little League, helping create tournaments where kids are safe, volunteers feel supported and everyone has a great experience. She’s even studying a Diploma of Crowd Safety—because apparently one qualification wasn’t enough! 😂From the mosh pit to the ballpark, Emily knows what makes an event an experience. ⚾❤️Welcome to the team, Emily!
Every club has that volunteer that just keeps thin Every club has that volunteer that just keeps things moving.Down at Surfers Paradise Baseball Club that person is Andrea Marshall.Week in, week out, you’ll find Andrea in the canteen—always smiling, always organised and always getting it done. 👏She makes sure the canteen is stocked, stock is rotated and everything runs smoothly, even during the chaos of Winterball when players, families and volunteers are constantly coming and going. And when tournaments roll around? Andrea steps up again. She takes the lead in making sure volunteers know what they’re doing, where everything is and what needs to happen—helping turn a busy canteen into a well-oiled machine.Even when her club isn't playing, Andrea still shows up.When @Runaway Bay were in need of a field, Surfers came to the party - complete with Andrea working away in the canteen all day to make sure everything was ready and running for everyone. That kind of commitment doesn't happen by accident.Andrea is the person who shows up, gets stuck in and makes sure the job gets done—with an infectious smile along the way. 😊The canteen might serve the food, but volunteers like Andrea serve the whole baseball community. ❤️You'll find Andrea leading the way on diversity and inclusivity across our state as one of the Board Directors.Thank you, Andrea, for being an absolute gem and for everything you do week after week! 👏⚾If you know of a volunteer who deserves a shout out, drop them a quick nomination!
