⚾ Behind every great game is an umpire making it h ⚾ Behind every great game is an umpire making it happen.From local junior diamonds to national championships and even the Little League World Series, Queensland's umpiring community continues to play a vital role in growing our game.This season alone, 52 umpires helped deliver the Baseball Queensland State Championships, with many stepping up from community and parent umpiring ranks.Queensland officials also represented the state at national tournaments across Australia, while Mark Stone earned selection to the 2026 Little League World Series in Williamsport.In our latest feature, State Director of Community Umpiring (Little League Umpires) Barry Foat reflects on a busy season, the importance of community umpires, and why there's never been a better time to get involved.Read the full story below 👇

Surrounded by more than 40,000 passionate fans, he knew he'd found something special.Fast forward to today, and that passion is helping transform baseball in Central Queensland.Every weekend, Phil volunteers his time to run free T-ball sessions for local children, introducing families to a sport that many in the region have never had the chance to experience.Now, he's joined with Baseball Queensland to bring baseball into schools, OSHCs, kindergartens and childcare centres across the Rockhampton region."This is what it's all about. From Queensland to New Zealand – Your Next Basebal From Queensland to New Zealand – Your Next Baseball Adventure AwaitsThe inaugural New Zealand Tour in 2025 delivered incredible experiences for athletes from across Queensland, combining international competition, cultural immersion, leadership development and team bonding.Now we're doing it again.The 2026 New Zealand Tour will see selected athletes travel to Auckland and Hamilton to compete against New Zealand representative teams while developing independence, resilience and lifelong friendships.As one parent reflected after last year's tour:
