The Queensland Crocs are gearing up for the Barclay Cup 2026, Australia’s premier participation tournament for junior female baseball players aged 13–16 years. Bringing together emerging talent from across the country, the Barclay Cup provides young athletes with the opportunity to compete, develop their skills, build friendships, and celebrate their love of baseball in a fun and inclusive environment.
The 2026 tournament promises another exciting week of competition, teamwork, and memorable experiences as the Queensland Crocs proudly represent Queensland on the national stage.
What is the Barclay Cup?
The Barclay Cup is a national junior girls baseball tournament designed to encourage participation, player development, and pathways for female athletes. Since its debut in Queensland in 2022, the event has continued to grow, providing young players with valuable opportunities to compete against the best emerging female baseball talent from around Australia.
Now entering its fifth edition, the Barclay Cup has become a highlight of the junior baseball calendar, showcasing the future stars of women’s baseball while fostering a positive and supportive playing environment.

Age Eligibility
Players must be aged 13–16 years as at 31 August 2026.
Queensland Crocs Team Selection & Preparation
The Queensland Crocs program is designed to prepare athletes for a rewarding national tournament experience through a structured development pathway, team training sessions, and competition preparation.
Athlete Evaluation Day
Players interested in representing Queensland at the 2026 Barclay Cup must attend the official evaluation day.
Date: Sunday, 5 July 2026
Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Location: Bannister Park, Gerler Road, Hendra, Queensland
Athletes will be assessed on their baseball skills, game awareness, athletic ability, teamwork, and coachability.
Team Training Program
Selected players will participate in an 8-week training block leading into the tournament. The development program is designed to help athletes build confidence, improve their skills, strengthen team connections, and prepare for national competition.
Training sessions will focus on:
- Fundamental baseball skills
- Game situations and strategy
- Team culture and communication
- Physical preparation
- Leadership and personal development
Program Cost & Inclusions
The total cost for selected athletes will be announced soon.
The program fee includes:
- Queensland Crocs playing jersey
- Training top and cap
- Return flights to Melbourne
- Eight nights accommodation
- Meals throughout the tournament
- Ground transport
- Tournament entry fees
- Development program and team training sessions

Baseball Queensland Calendar for female events and programs
Baseball Queensland Director – Participation, Geoff Wade has taken the initiative to establish a Female Participation sub-committee which will be tasked with providing leadership in developing pathways and programs that cater specifically to female participants ranging from participation programs through to athletic development programs.

As you can see from the calendar the group has resolved to offer a State Titles event for Women and Girls in December with these events being another opportunity for females to stake a claim to a roster spot with the Queensland Bandits Women’s and Girl’s State Teams.
All female teams will also be entered into the Timberjacks Tournament in Lismore (July), the Gold Coast Classic (January 2019) and the Div II State Titles (April 2019) as a means to provide further participation opportunities.
A number of development programs will also be offered to assist females to improve their skills and develop the characteristics for success in baseball. Every Sunday in September will see a development program delivered at Bannister Park, Hendra.
Preparations are also underway to breathe new life into the local Brisbane based Women’s Baseball League, with more information to be released shortly.
