Season Information
Operating as a winter season, Cairns clubs start pre-season in late March/early April.
Finalised season dates are to be released.
Player Costs
Baseball Australia and Baseball Queensland’s fees (capitations) represent a portion of your total registration costs, with North Queensland Baseball adding a small fee and clubs charging their fees on top.
Equipment
Some clubs will provide shared equipment for their teams or players, especially for our youngest age groups, so it pays to make contact directly with your club to confirm what they can provide.
Baseball Queenslandโs preferred supplier,ย Leading Edge Sports, can assist with providing advice and delivery of equipment!
Volunteering Opportunities
Coaching Ages 3-8
Junior coaches have access to brand new resource and Junior Coach Accreditation to support them in their delivery of Buddy League and T-Ball for ages 3-8.

Coaching Ages 8+

Coaches looking to develop their skills practically are encouraged to express interest in Baseball Queensland delivered programs and teams!
Scoring
Scorers are our statisticians, our scorekeepers. The key to confirming a win vs a loss.
Keep an eye out for the next scorers clinic or reach out to Queensland Baseball Scorers (QBS) to make your interest known.
To find out more, visit the QBS website by clicking here.
You may find contacting the Baseball Cairns committee easier, as they can direct you to a local mentor! You can contact [email protected]
Umpiring
Umpires lay down the law of the game, calling balls and strikes, fouls, safe or out.
Attending a Community Clinic is a great entry point for anyone wanting to umpire, while an Association Clinic is for those who hope to progress to officiate state and national events.
The website below provides progression and training information for Umpires from our state body theย Queensland Baseball Umpires Association (QBUA).
Click here to view the QBUA website.
Cairns is administrated under it’s own Umpires Association, you can contact them via the Facebook page here.
Administrating
As a small sport, we heavily rely on people generous enough to lend their time to develop and maintain our clubs, their representative regions and to complete some functions at a state level.
You are highly encouraged to reach out to your club or region to understand where your skills can be best applied!
