SUMMARY:Intermediate League World Series
DESCRIPTION:https://www.littleleague.org/world-series/2023/5070/tournaments/world-series/ \n2023 AUSTRALIAN INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP\n\nThe Brisbane North squad came to play at the 2023 Australian Intermediate League Championship series in Mildura\, Victoria. The undefeated tournament run was\ncapped with a 7 – 3 final game against the Ryde Hawks and earned the squad a ticket to compete internationally in Livermore\, California. \n\n\n\nThe Brisbane North team were dominant from a pitching perspective\, led by Alonzo Zaire Griffin who conceded 1 earned across 8 innings while punching out 21!\nTeammate Tirrell Waiwai was equally impressive\, tossing 8.2 innings while conceding no earned runs and striking out 20. In fact\, the entire pitching staff should tip their cap as they gave up a total of 4 earned runs over 6 games. Offensively the team was explosive\, tallying 47 runs in 6 games with outstanding contributions once again from Zaire Griffin who hit .455 with a homerun and Mason Clem and Cody Hawkes who both notched tournament averages over .500. \nRyde Hawks put an early scare into the Brisbane North squad in the final game\, tallying 3 runs in the first inning. Undaunted\, the champions responded with 3 of their\nown in the bottom of the first and never looked back\, with 2 more in the bottom of the second and additional runs in the 4 th and 6 th to lock up the victory. The North team\ntallied 7 hits in the game\, led by Richards\, Baert and Griffen who all had multiple knocks. Griffin was the star of the show\, going 5 innings and punching out an\nastonishing 15 batters in the contest (to put that in context\, every out recorded during his outing was of his own doing). Tyler Wilson tossed 2 scoreless innings to lock\ndown the win and send his team to the US. \nBaseball Australia would like to thank the Mildura Rural City Council for their support. \nCongratulations to all clubs\, players\, coaches\, umpires\, scorers and volunteers involved in the event! \nView the tournament results and stats on GameChanger: \n2023 Australian Intermediate League Championship

Let’s celebrate the hard work and commitment of our volunteers\, and show them how much we appreciate everything they do to make baseball in Queensland a success. \nBQ NVW Resources \nEditable Canva frame (Instagram Square) \nEditable Cava frame (Facebook Landscape) \n  \n  \nVOLUNTEERING AUSTRALIA WEBSITE

SUMMARY:2023 ASLC
DESCRIPTION:Click here for 2023 ASLC on GameChanger \nBrisbane Metro to represent Queensland at the 2023 Australian Senior League Championships. \n \n  \n  \nMANDURAH TO HOST SENIOR LEAGUE 2023\n\n\nBaseball Australia confirmed the 2023 Australian Senior League Championship would be hosted in a brand-new facility at Peel Diamond Sports at Lakelands Park from May 8-12. \nAfter being announced as the 2022 Australian Senior League Championship hosts\, only to be relocated to Geelong Victoria due to C-19 border closures\, Mandurah City Council is excited to welcome baseball back to the west. \nTeams will travel to Mandurah from across the country and vie for the championship title\, which was won by Victorian Charter Eastern Athletics this year.  The City of Mandurah and hosts Peel Diamond Sports will support the five-day event. \nCity of Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams said it would be great to welcome players and officials to Mandurah for the highly anticipated event next year.“While it was unfortunate the event was not able to go ahead this year\, we’re looking forward to holding these national championships in Mandurah for 2023\,” he said. \n“Our award-winning Lakelands Park facility is the perfect spot to host an event of this calibre\, and will put Mandurah in the spotlight for a national audience. It’s also hoped the event will bring a number of benefits to our local economy.” \n“We hope all players\, staff and their families can experience everything Mandurah has to offer while they’re here\, including our local businesses\, cafes and restaurants\, and range of tourism opportunities.” \nIt will be the first time Western Australia has hosted a national Little League event. \nBaseball Western Australia chief executive Lachlan Dale said it was a great result to have the tournament return to Western Australia. \n“In what has been a challenging number of years for not only Baseball but the whole community\, we are looking forward to moving forward and bringing the ASLC back to the national event calendar.” \n“It is a great opportunity for Peel Diamond Sports\, City of Mandurah and the WA baseball family to get behind the tournament and showcase baseball in the west.” \nThe Australian Senior League Championship was first held in 2016\, featuring players aged 13-16 and is played on full-sized diamonds. \nBaseball Australia chief executive Glenn Williams was excited to take Little League baseball to the region. \n“We had to be agile in our movements around Senior League in 2022\, now more than ever it is important to share key events on our calendar with the Baseball community. “ \n“Lakelands Park has received a significant investment and is a fantastic facility and we hope the event will boost baseball’s profile further in the area.” \nThe 2023 champions will head to Easley\, South Carolina\, USA for the Senior League World Series in late July. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Queensland Women's Week 2023
DESCRIPTION:#BASEBALLQWW23\nTo celebrate Queensland’s Women’s Week (5-12th March) – we invite all clubs and regions to join us in celebrating these outstanding individuals or women’s teams. \nShare a photo of them in action\, showcasing what they do best. Please tag #BaseballQWW23 so we can re-share your posts. \nWe have created a BaseballQWW23 Social Post Cheat Sheet to help clubs/regions to create social media posts in preparation for Queensland Women’s Week 2023 starting this Sunday.  We encourage at least one social media post on Wednesday\, 8th March to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023. \nDownload the BaseballQWW23 Social Post Cheat Sheet HERE \n\n\n\n\n\n  \nEMPOWER HER VOICE\nThe theme for Queensland Women’s Week 2023 is Empower her voice; secure her future. The theme builds on the momentum achieved through last year’s theme which called on women and girls to tell their stories as we strive for change. All of us now have a role to play in empowering those voices as we work together as a community to achieve gender equality. \nThe theme is a celebration of women and girls who have stood up to be heard and acknowledges the fundamental right of every woman and girl to equally participate and be safe in all areas of our society including education\, the economy and workforce\, politics and\, importantly\, at home. \nOfficial Website: https://www.qld.gov.au/community/women/events/queensland-womens-week \nDownload artwork: https://www.publications.qld.gov.au/dataset/womens-week

We will have clubs available on site to discuss the season and membership packages. \n\nT-Ball \nBaseball 5\n Skills Station\nWiffle Ball\nHome Run Derby\nMovie on the infield at dark\n\nOn Sunday we have a great way to kick off 2023 for the seniors with a day of Bananaball Games. \n\n\n\nThe team that scores the most runs in an inning gets one point\, except in the 9th inning when every run counts as one point. If an inning ends with one team at five points and a lead\, that team wins.\nA two-hour time limit on games. If a team is leading on points at that time\, it wins.\nNo bunting. A batter who attempts a bunt is ejected from the game.\nBatters are not allowed to step out of the batters box; a violation is an automatic strike.\nBatters are allowed to “steal” first base. Specifically\, they can attempt to advance to first base in case of a wild pitch or passed ball at any time during the at-bat.\nNo mound visits are allowed.\nWalks are now called sprints. After the fourth ball\, the batter is allowed to advance as far around the bases as he can. The ball must be sequentially thrown to all of the fielders apart from the pitcher\, starting with the catcher; the ball remains dead\, with the batter-runner not liable to be put out\, until all fielders apart from the pitcher and catcher have touched the ball.\nFoul Balls caught by fans are counted as outs.\nTies are broken by a “1 on 1 showdown.” Each team selects a pitcher and hitter to face off\, with the pitching team having only the pitcher\, catcher\, and a single fielder during the showdown. The hitter has to score a run in order to earn a point for the tiebreaker. A batter who draws a walk advances to second base\, with the hitting team allowed to send a new batter to the plate. A showdown inning can only end with an out or a run scored.
