We will have clubs available on site to discuss the season and membership packages. \n\nT-Ball \nBaseball 5\n Skills Station\nWiffle Ball\nHome Run Derby\nMovie on the infield at dark\n\nOn Sunday we have a great way to kick off 2023 for the seniors with a day of Bananaball Games. \n\n\n\nThe team that scores the most runs in an inning gets one point\, except in the 9th inning when every run counts as one point. If an inning ends with one team at five points and a lead\, that team wins.\nA two-hour time limit on games. If a team is leading on points at that time\, it wins.\nNo bunting. A batter who attempts a bunt is ejected from the game.\nBatters are not allowed to step out of the batters box; a violation is an automatic strike.\nBatters are allowed to “steal” first base. Specifically\, they can attempt to advance to first base in case of a wild pitch or passed ball at any time during the at-bat.\nNo mound visits are allowed.\nWalks are now called sprints. After the fourth ball\, the batter is allowed to advance as far around the bases as he can. The ball must be sequentially thrown to all of the fielders apart from the pitcher\, starting with the catcher; the ball remains dead\, with the batter-runner not liable to be put out\, until all fielders apart from the pitcher and catcher have touched the ball.\nFoul Balls caught by fans are counted as outs.\nTies are broken by a “1 on 1 showdown.” Each team selects a pitcher and hitter to face off\, with the pitching team having only the pitcher\, catcher\, and a single fielder during the showdown. The hitter has to score a run in order to earn a point for the tiebreaker. A batter who draws a walk advances to second base\, with the hitting team allowed to send a new batter to the plate. A showdown inning can only end with an out or a run scored.

SUMMARY:AYC
DESCRIPTION:The Australian Youth Championships will be held at Blacktown International Sports Park\, where U16 and U18 events will be held for the first time since January 2020. \n\n\n\nMore info at  https://baseball.com.au/news/summer-of-baseball-the-perfect-game-and-the-autralian-youth-championships-unite/  \n\n\nThe Australian Youth Championships will be held a Blacktown International Sports Park\, where both the Under 16 and Under 18 events will be held for the first time since January 2020. The revised Championship format will see further innovation from the 2022 U16 AYC’s held in Redcliffe during the July school holidays. \nPlayers will arrive into Sydney on the 9th of January prior to taking part in Showcase activities and workouts presented by The Perfect Game on the 10th and 11th. Teams will then move into six double header days of completion to crown the Australian Champions with the finals being played on the 17th of January. In all\, over 60 games will be played across the six days of competition\, with all games of Field one broadcasted and games on fields 2 and 3 also streamed. \nThe event will see further integration of strategic partners with Synergy Sport once again providing scouting analysis of the event at both age groups\, and the attendance of Driveline Baseball at the Championships to provide workshops and coach education for the 50+ coaches who volunteer their time to support the AYC teams. \nGeneral Manager – Performance Pathways & Player Development Michael Crooks was excited about the summer ahead: “We have been waiting desperately for not just our country but the world to open up again for key under age baseball events. Over the last two years\, we have been working incredibly closely with our state associations\, The Perfect Game\, Driveline Baseball and Synergy Sport to execute the plans that we have been making to both rethink and revision what a summer of baseball can look like for our talented young players. These plans will come to life in January and we cannot wait for everyone in attendance to see the program that has been set for the teams. \nCrooks was especially buoyed by the opportunities created by the inbound Perfect Game teams. \n“We have spent close to two years working with The Perfect Game on how we can create opportunities for US based teams to come to Australia at the right time of year to play our state teams. The timing of the games is perfect preparation leading into the AYC’s\, and it will provide a fantastic framework of where we can build into South Australia and Western Australia in the summer of 2023/24 then reach down to the U16 age group the following year.
