DESCRIPTION:Online Workshop 1: Club Policies – What Your Club Needs to KnowTuesday 21 July 2026\, 6:30pm \n\n\n\nRunning a successful baseball club involves more than organising teams\, fixtures and volunteers. Clubs also need to understand and apply the policies that help create a safe\, consistent and well-managed environment for players\, families and officials. \n\n\n\nThis practical online workshop will provide an overview of key Baseball Queensland policies and the steps clubs should be taking to meet their responsibilities. It will cover matters such as alcohol and tobacco at junior events\, responding to heat\, lightning and air quality conditions\, and where clubs can find relevant guidance and resources. \n\n\n\nThe session\, delivered by our governance partner CPRG\, is designed to help committee members and other club volunteers cut through the detail\, understand what is expected and identify any simple improvements their club can make. With the rollout of the 10 Child Safe Standards\, the commencement of the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 and continuing obligations under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000\, clubs need to understand what these developments mean for their policies\, practices and governance. \n\n\n\nThis online workshop will provide an overview of the evolving legislative and regulatory framework for child safeguarding in Queensland\, including the direction of reform and the areas clubs should be watching closely. It will help committee members and key volunteers understand the broader expectations around creating child safe organisations\, managing risks and ensuring appropriate screening and safeguards are in place. \n\n\n\nThe session\, delivered by our governance partner CPRG\, is designed to give clubs a clearer picture of what is changing\, what may be required over time and the practical steps they can begin considering now.
