SUMMARY:Intermediate League World Series
DESCRIPTION:2023 Intermediate 50/70 Baseball World Series \n \n2023 AUSTRALIAN INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP\n\nThe Brisbane North squad came to play at the 2023 Australian Intermediate League Championship series in Mildura\, Victoria. The undefeated tournament run was\ncapped with a 7 – 3 final game against the Ryde Hawks and earned the squad a ticket to compete internationally in Livermore\, California. \n\n\n\nThe Brisbane North team were dominant from a pitching perspective\, led by Alonzo Zaire Griffin who conceded 1 earned across 8 innings while punching out 21!\nTeammate Tirrell Waiwai was equally impressive\, tossing 8.2 innings while conceding no earned runs and striking out 20. In fact\, the entire pitching staff should tip their cap as they gave up a total of 4 earned runs over 6 games. Offensively the team was explosive\, tallying 47 runs in 6 games with outstanding contributions once again from Zaire Griffin who hit .455 with a homerun and Mason Clem and Cody Hawkes who both notched tournament averages over .500. \nRyde Hawks put an early scare into the Brisbane North squad in the final game\, tallying 3 runs in the first inning. Undaunted\, the champions responded with 3 of their\nown in the bottom of the first and never looked back\, with 2 more in the bottom of the second and additional runs in the 4 th and 6 th to lock up the victory. The North team\ntallied 7 hits in the game\, led by Richards\, Baert and Griffen who all had multiple knocks. Griffin was the star of the show\, going 5 innings and punching out an\nastonishing 15 batters in the contest (to put that in context\, every out recorded during his outing was of his own doing). Tyler Wilson tossed 2 scoreless innings to lock\ndown the win and send his team to the US. \nBaseball Australia would like to thank the Mildura Rural City Council for their support. \nCongratulations to all clubs\, players\, coaches\, umpires\, scorers and volunteers involved in the event! \nView the tournament results and stats on GameChanger: \n2023 Australian Intermediate League Championship
